Colonel (Retd.) – A’ Adviser War Museum of Greece
He was born in Iraklia, Serres. He graduated from the Pharmacy Department of the Military College of Officers and he was retired in 2002, at his request, with the rank of Colonel Ph.D.
For more than 40 years he has been involved in historical research, acquisition, recording, preservation, documentation, research, interpretation, exhibition and viewing of historical material. He owns more than 20,000 historical relics of Modern Greek History, exhibited in Museums and with which he has organized more than 200 historical periodicals in Greece and abroad. The main part of his collection is on display at the War Museum, Thessaloniki branch and the rest, at twelve other historic museums in Greece, from Rethymnon and Kalamata to Skra and Giannitsa.
He has been involved in Museology for more than 30 years. By order of the Hellenic General Staff, he worked for the upgrading of all the Military Museums in the country and for the design and creation of all new Military Museums. He has also worked for the creation of private museums throughout Greece.
He is the author of sixteen historical works related to Modern Greek History. He is also an amateur in painting and sculpture. From 2002 to 2013 he worked at his Pharmacy in Thessaloniki and at the same time he was Director of the Macedonian Struggle Museum Foundation, until November 2017. He was Vice President of the Thessaloniki Pharmaceutical Association from 2004 to 2013. Since 2013 he is also the Director of the Hellenic Pharmaceutical Museum.
In 2014 he was decorated by the President of the Republic with the Golden Cross of the Order of Excellence, for his excellent service to the country. In the same year, he was decorated by the Ministry of National Defense with the First Class Cross of Merit and Merit for his distinguished service to the Armed Forces of Greece. Since July 2016 he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Red Cross / Thessaloniki department.
In 2016 he was honored by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Thessaloniki with the Centennial Medal from the beginning of World War I. In the same year he was conferred on Constantinople, the Officer of the Lord "Kouropalates" of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkidon. Since December 2018, he has been the First Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Athens War Museum.
He is married to pharmacist Anastasia Khadia and they have three sons.
